Introduction

The College of Chapter Development (COCD) is a series of courses that have been divided into specific "modules", each of which deals with a different topic. These topics are intended to help not only newly-established chapters, but also established chapters that might be looking for additional help with their membership.

The 100-level courses have been designed, for the most part, from the standpoint of someone who has limited or no exposure to the subject matter being presented. The 200-level courses build upon what was learned in the 100-level courses and assume that the student has at least a working knowledge of the subject matter being discussed.

Important: It is vital that you make sure you keep a copy of your results and certificate as proof of completing COCD. Do not rely on the STARFLEET Database or anyone else to verify that you have completed COCD or any other Academy course. The burden of proof is upon you, the student.

Curriculum

The Basics
The first module, "The Basics", is designed as your starting point. COCD-101 - Recruiting and Retention 101 is the prerequisite course for all other courses in the College. This course is designed to give the student a basic understanding of what the concepts of recruiting and retention are, as well as some ideas on accomplishing both. Once this course has been completed (or proof of successful completion of the original Recruiting and Retention 101 course from the former College of Recruiting has been provided to the College Director), the student may take whatever courses they choose, in whatever order they like.

COCD-101 - Recruiting and Retention 101
COCD-102 - Understanding Technology & Social Media
